RemovAL’s first coordination meeting was hosted by the European Aluminium Association in Brussels, on the 18th of June, 2018. The 40 participants, representing the 26 RemovAL partners, focused on the specific work packages in great detail, to ensure the flawless implementation of the project.
Within the context of the coordination meeting, an open stakeholder group meeting was held on June 19, 2018. In addition to RemovAL partners, more than 20 industry representatives, as well as members of the relevant European platforms (CEMBUREAU, Eurometaux, Euroalliages, and European Aluminium Association) and the European Commission, became acquainted with the objectives of RemovAL, and actively participated in providing the stakeholder point of view.
For “waste producers” in particular, i.e. producers of solid waste which can be treated along side or in a similar way as in RemovAl project (other alumina producers, salt slag treatment, ferrous industry, mineral sector, etc.), an open call was issued asking the industry stakeholders to propose their own waste types to be included in RemovAL’s waste inventory and even potentially to tested within the pilot plants of the project.
