The project consortium spans across 12 European countries (11 EU member states and 1 associated country-Norway) bringing together different expertise and know-how. Among the 25 participants in the consortium there are 8 large production industries and companies, 9 SMEs and 6 academic and research institute partners and 2 industrial associations.
The alumina sector as the key-stakeholder and waste producer is represented by 3 plants (in total representing 44% of European alumina production), 1 legacy site, the European Aluminium association and the International Aluminium Institute.
